OK, so Sebenza is best .... what is 2nd best ?

For top quality - still not cheap but much less than a sebenza - an Al Mar SERE 2000 or Shrike are beautifully made for production knives. Also many manual Microtechs have amazing fit and finish and cost a lot less than a Sebbie. You could still find a nice LCC or Amphibian if you watch the for sale threads on various forums. You're still in a high dollar bracket but much much less than $350 - $400.

Absolutely. How could I forget the Al Mar and Microtech, and MOD, and... :)

I received my WH titan bf 15 a few weeks ago, same money, but much lighter and sleeker in the pocket. For everyday carry is that for me a big advantage ( I don't live in a forrest), a big diference with the BM 690 wich was my EDC before. The ZDP is awfully sharp. The knive was flawless. :p :D

If Sebenza is the best, then second best would have to be a Benchmade AFCK or something, cause those seem like the 2 knives people chat about most... :p

Until Busse comes out with their folder then its no question who is tops. ;)

You know what .. I just realized that your trying to use jedi mind trick on us with this threads title!!! We start naming knives and automatically were admitting the seb to be king!!! I get it now! Listen the heck with that.. seb is a great folder, one of the best I admit, but even for the same money, I'll take my 805 PE any day!

Second best for what?

Actually, I'd have to go with Striders. Sebenzas are definitely the best for generating 8 page threads covering and re-covering the same stuff talked about for years, complete with Cliff Stamp's libel rhetoric and moronically destructive testing. Striders are a close second.

You are just talking about mass produced manufactured knives, right?

You don't recommendations about some of the knives made by the custom fellows.

i'd say the Buck/Mayo TNT is the BEST production folder i've ever owned. it's less than the Sebbie and nearly as good in my opinion. I also think the Kershaw Bump is a work of art! what a great knife!

sebenza is best? umm... thats a pretty subjective assumption.
id spend my $400 in other ways.

not saying its a bad knife, just that this is a totally subjective question and depends on the needs and preferences of the individual.

same goes for 'second best'. bah. what a silly thread. its like posting 'which car is the best?'

I'm not saying it's second best, but the Ritter RSK1 is a good knife for ~$100...it has an S30V blade and good ergonomics.

you could always get 50 quality knockoffs!

hardy har har.

no, i was thinking more along the lines of 3-4 quality knives from various manufacturers, without the astronomical markup. either that or a unique custom.

either way this entire thread is like saying:

'Ok, the Ford Mustang is the best.... what is 2nd best?'
as many people as there are in this world is how many possible answers there could be. then again, many people follow the crowd and let others tell them whats 'best'...

Im new to both the forums and knives as a hobby. A good knife to me is sharp and inexpensive and fits in my pocket. But because I am getting more into knives as a actual hobby i appreciate a thread like this, it gives me tons of knives to check out in mags or online to help formulate my best option, same as buying a car, i read alot of "best car" articles then make my decsion based on that ,money and personal preference. I hope there is always room for a thread where people can list what they consider "the best"..it helps me as a newcomer anyhow) Anyhow i guess Im a follower because i cant help but like a certain knife that has been mentioned a ton hehe. Whats the best knife! keepum comin!~
