OK, who did this?

I'm going to be reviewing a pair of those pants. Anyone who say I got into Bear's pants is a dead man.

These were pretty well regarded before Bear picked them up, but the pants then became endorsed :P . We'll see. Lifetime warranty and nylon sounds interesting though!
(on the road by the way)

Not impressed with the man or show but his clothes look quality and very usefull.

I'm interested in those pants(hardy har), thats about it.

$90 bucks is quite expensive though.

I'll wait for your review Joe

Craghoppers has a US website. It looks like a pretty good line, not quite as technical looking as the Bear line. I like that Trackerr Fleece too and the Bear Grylls logog is almost subdued enough to overlook but I'd still try to scratch it off.

I'm liking this Turnpike Jacket, and it's a bit more affordable.

Thanks for the link.
Their fleeces require further scrutiny.

I agree that the pants look interesting. Joe, did you steal Bear's pant while he was sleeping in a rotting elk carcass or at the Four Seasons?:D

They're nice....but they have his name on it. It's like when I see cool looking shirt, then on the back it says 'TONY HAWK!'. Kinda lame.

EDIT: Thier site, Craghoppers, has some nice non bear gyrll name clothing though.

I got the catalog as well, some of the clothes look pretty good but are overpriced, or I would never buy at full retail anyway. My wife really liked alot of the womens clothes too. I also noticed it was missing the overpriced knife:barf:
I'm not sure how I got the catalog either?

I have several of Craghoppers pants and a few shirts. Great quality and design. They are very comfortable. I wasn't impressed with Bear's clothing. To hookie for me. The main reason I bought the cloths is for the sun protection factor. To many years in the tropical sun and now I have to wear SPF rated clothing. The price is a little high, But compared to what is out there with a SPF rating it is not that bad. These are more functional than what is on the market. I have several of the Nosiquito pants and shirts. They seem to do a good job keeping the bugs away.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuurp.
If you want a good pair of nylon pants or shorts buy some AFTCO originals.

Bear:jerkit:Watching that idiot makes me miss Steve Irwin.Irwin was the real deal without the nonsense. He was actually on a mission.

As to the poster with the bandana fetish.
Buy me a 12 pack and a bandana and I'll hook you up sweet !:D

I loved watching Steve Irwin as well but he was hardly a survival expert.I also like watching Les stroud but after seeing his behind the scene shows he too gets a hell of a lot of advice about what he can and can't eat etc before doing a show. IMO the survival king is still Ray Mears, he is the real deal.Maybe I should add Cody Lundin as well but I haven't seen much of him on TV to compare !

Les went to unfamiliar parts of the world to film his shows so it does make sense to get advice on what is edible from the local experts.

Yeah I'm not knocking Les too much as I really like him and his show, I just think Ray Mears is in a slightly higher league !

I'm tempted to buy something with the Bear logo and wear it just to annoy some people. :D

You have to talk with the accent and do blatantly stupid things, like jump over the turnstile at the subway or some such nonsense, at the same time

OH!! Don't forget to get a camera crew:D

I've always liked the buttonup shirts that he wears. I wear alot of those but I hate that stoopid flap that most have with the mesh on the back and those huge, goofy pockets that most of them have.

Not paying 60 bucks though.

Joe, do you mean the pants with the black patches on the knees, seat and inside the ankles?? I bought a pair of these nothing to do with Bear himself, but I have been familiar with Craghoppers for some time (A Euro friend of mine intrduced me), but they are very comfortable but I do notice they run a size small. I am 6' 2" 195 +/- and I wear a size 34, the craghoppers fit like a 32... Just an fyi. I look forward to your review.

I waited 2 weeks to watch Bear grills and one of his survival shows ... he landed in alaska in freezing conditions, got wet heaps of times and at the end sunk the boat he stole, dumped his film crew in the glacier water and swam himself onto a little rock island only to emergency phone a river cat and rescue him and his crew before they died of hypothermia!! I'll give him credit for maintaining his composure while swimming in nearly frozen water and still talking to the camera. Now I find out he's selling a clothing line ... probably not even fire proof! WHAT A DISSAPOINTMENT.

Ray Mears does the same thing as Les, gets local training and advice.

Matter of fact Ray doesn't rough it near as hardcore as Les does. Both men have much to offer but with different styles.

i agree skammer, together les and ray give us valuable realistic training each specialising in different areas. I have a huge amount of respect for les and still learning about ray.
