OK who hogged up all the leaner meaners...

I've been a very patient and diligent surfer of the Busse exchange here on BF and have scored some nice INFI at nice prices. My favorite so far, a snakeskin CG SJTAC. Now I know I'm blaspheming the INFI gods but I'm just really into THINFI and have been wanting a Leaner Meaner now for a couple of months and they just never seem to show up on the exchange. I've seen a couple of gorgeous custom shop ones but I'm still at the point where I'm just trying to nail down a few more basic users before I buy some INFI that is just too beautiful to take out to the woods. Did Jaxx buy them all? Are the folks who bought them just so in love that they can never part with 'em? Was the production run very small? Where oh where are the Leaner Meaners? I promise to be nice to 'em. No crazy abuse, well OK maybe just a little. ;):D

Well I guess I could always just pick up a Meaner and send it out to one of the grind monkeys. :D:D:D

That is probably the surest way to ensure that some leaner meaners would come available, right after you had a meaner ground down. :D

I figured as much. Does he respond well to begging?

You could give it a shot. LOL... Couldn't HURT any, LMAO!

Ok, ok... just the 2 on the left are actual LrMrSt's... and one has been modded by the Shop since that pic...

I'll take it. :D:D

Wow, you actually had the shop make the choil wider? Interesting.

You call that begging??? ;) LOL

Yep. When I bought that one from another HOG, it had a reprofiled edge down to like 10 degrees... Which was scalpel sharp, but I took it to BLADE, and used it at Fogo; worked great but I rolled the edge a little when I dinged the plate a few times while cutting meat, and realized that it was not going to be maintained well at that thin an angle... So since I wanted the Shop to reprofile it back to something a little thicker, I decided to ask them to enlarge the choil as well. I like being able to really choke up on knives, and since I already had an AD with the same feature, I knew that I'd like this one to have it too. It's still sharp as heck, and the choil is perfect for me now. Also, with the edge re...REprofiled back to about 15 degrees or so, the belly of the blade is a little thinner, and the tip is pointy as heck! :)

I'm totally pro-choil as well, not only for being able to choke up but for the added ease of sharpening. 15 degrees is about perfect, my GW is probably at 12 degrees right now and I may regret that at some point. My wife used it to open a paint can :( and did roll the edge quite a bit, but I brought it back just using an ultra-fine ceramic rod, one of the things I love about INFI.

I'm not good with begging but let me know what your drink of choice is. :D

Pssst... Come over here a second. If you want something from Jaxx, drink ain't gonna do it. Call Amy and plead/coerce/buy one of her cheesecakes. Now, you've got real trade fodder to tempt Jaxx out of a Meaner.

Or you coulda driven to Columbus this weekend and selected one from the table....;) :p

Actually, there is at least one on the exchange, as sage user in good shape.....

(EDIT: OK, I lied. looks like it sold last night at 7:53. Sorry man. From a good guy too...)

There's at least ONE other new sage Milganzaaaa Meaner currently listed... ;)

Did you order a cutlessess. . . cultofsassies. . . cuttlefish. . . whateverthatthingis? Sorta like a Leaner.

That's the rumor ;), one of those pesky grail knives !

The flat ground Meaner's .170, are better slicers than the .150 saber ground Leaner's IMO

Well screw you guys- if that's an SE on the right, I'll beg!

Mr. Jaxx, sir, please detail your preferred method of begging, type of bribery, and/or flavor of cheesecake and let's see what we can do about getting me that SE!

PMs and emails accepted

Glad to see I'm not alone on the choils- so many seem to bitch about them. I'm thinking about lengthening the one on my SE AD (so now you see the need for the SE Meaner).

Now you have gone and done it. I have been fighting the urge to hog up a few Meaners and Leaner Meaners. My resolve is weakening, watch out piglets. I don't have a satin one yet, mmm satin.
