The Okapi is made in South Africa and has been for a very long time. Everybody down there carries one as they are really cheap. Great knife for having around in your truck or car. Sharpen them properly and they are really good cutters. Dixy Guns sells them as "period" folders. Also, Cold Steel is now producing their version of the Okapi. By the way, an Okapi is an African Antelope.

I saw a Cold Steel version of an Opinel not long ago on ebay , with the twist lock .
The problem with that I think is it wouldnt wear so easy and be able to be opened and locked with one hand once its broken in ...
if thats a problem , I like the Opinels for that .
