Okay, FESS UP !!!

Just moments before reading this post, a removed the celophane wrap from a Yankee Candle for Mrs. Iuke with my Spyderco Paramilitary. Yeah, I could have done the job with a Vic....if I had one.

I used my emerson mini cqc7b 5 minutes ago to scare away the salvation army bell ringer... so no.

lol jk, I cut a piece of string last night that was hanging off my jacket. But it was a tough piece of string... I mean like... Rambo tough string... So maybe...

Last thing I cut was a teeny zip tie with a wirecutter. Nope, a Vic would have cut the insulation on the electrical wires.

Last time I used a SAK type knife the blade folded on me and gave my finger a good gash. :grumpy: After that I promised to get myself a locking knife.

ZT0200, 2 apples and a pear for fruit salad.
Bell pepper to add to a garden salad.

Crawford neck knife to trim a callus.

No, the Victorinox Classic stayed where it belonged while the big guys took care of business! :D

Last night I used the knife Im making my father for Christmas to open the box that contains the brand new belt grinder that he bought me for Christmas. Yeah I could have used the SAK but it wouldn't have been as special. By the way my pop has no idea that Im building this for him and Im not supposed to know about the grinder. ;)

YES and YES, although "crazy" is too vague a term.. a post a few months back gave the name as: KAD, knife acquisition disorder. i think this term has merit and certainly applies to me. there is a compulsive aspect to my collecting. i visit Bladeforums and ebay at least twice a day and feel urges to buy almost every folder that looks to be well made. visiting these sites gives me a feeling of warmth and satisfaction and i definitely "get off" during bidding and until the auction closes. my average acquiring is about 1.5 - 2 knives per 24 hours. when the power is out i feel anxious and restless. jobs around the property are piling up and although i am not broke yet, much of the money spent could have gone elsewhere (like charitable donations).
as an alcoholic with quite a few years of sobriety, i recognize these symptoms. i do however get a lot of pleasure in acquiring, "playing with", using and "tuning" knives, and it is certainly far less destuctive than my former activities. recently this disorder has progressed to CKAD; custom knife acquisition disorder. although this is a rather forthcoming post to make, i think quite a few others here will recognize what i am describing. roland

The very LAST time you used your knife.

Could it have been done with a Vic Classic

Certainly not! Allergy to the swiss knives.

The very last time I used my knife was just an hour or so ago, splitting up couple of logs of thick, strong, knotted firewood.

You Finn are tough but strange guys! In my area we do that job in summer and stay near the stove for winter. I don't want to change your uses but you should to try, it's nice.

dantzk.

Friday night:

Firepit started with with ferro-rod and leatherman - probably could have used classic.

Loaned Moore Maker Muskrat to neighbor to open chap stick. Classic would have worked.

Opened several Newcastles - SAK Tinker - classic wouldn't have worked.

I keep a classic in my PSK and one on my keychain but carry a traditional slippie or a bigger SAK all the time.

This morning to scrape ice of my outdoor pull up bar (yes, I am a nut). Could a Vic have worked? probably. But it's easier to clean and dry my Buck SBMF.

Wretched Excess, all !!!

I shudda knowed better than ta put this test to a buncha hairy chested he-man guys.

Where's NORREBOSSE..(was that the name?) The guy from the Viking lands that used his U-2 ta skin MOOSES?

Ok, I gotta admit to the same.... FAILINGS... as the resta ya. I only use my Vic ...RAMBLER... when I'm cutting stuff that I don't wanna sharpen my REAL knife over.

:foot::foot::D

OR...I might add.... whenever somone sez, "Lemme see yer knife."

OK, I used my Vic Camper to make some shipping boxes. The Camper gets more use than any other knife I have. Sharpened on the Sharpmaker and sill slices paper clean after making 4 shipping boxes. Not bad for 14.00.

The very LAST time you used your knife.

Could it have been done with a Vic Classic?
No.
Just carved up a roast beast, no way is a SAK blade long enough, but my Leuku is.

Second to last time, I could have used a Vic Classic, but used a Vic Rucksack instead. :p

I used my 14 last to open a pack of venison, open my pay check envelope, and oh yea open a Fender box with a new guitar. Never could have been done with a SA, cause I don't own one. Probably never will either. keepem sharp

some plastic wrapping this morning, a pear this afternoon, loose thread on my shirt this evening.

used my cheapo Magnum EDC which has been with me for years and looks like it has been with me for longer
-homemade replacement thumbstud aka nut and bolt
-thinned out the backlockreleaser
-used to be fully serrated, since 2007 its plain edge
-added some reflective tape on the handles after i spent an hour looking for it in the dark
-and most recently added a glowcord fob, just because...

I do own a Wenger Ranger04 and the big'ol Vic (leather belt pouch with compas, maglite and what not) both too bulky to EDC.
