We hate that! Because we really pride ourselves in customer service.
The good news is that we are in the process bringing in more people. It's been ongoing for about a year and a half now. Ever try to hire someone to fill a job that you invented, in a business that you made up? Its not very easy. But luck smiled on us once again and we have hired another champion. Hopefully she will start in a week or two.

Stand by for word domination.

Unfortunately, growing pains are usually part of the success story. Good luck with your success & growing business.

World domination indeed! Great news for all LEOs, Military and knife geeks everywhere. Thanks for your continued comitment to being the best.

Like knifebomber said everyone has a problem or two ;)
Wish you the best in solving yours, and all the good stuff.

P.S. MH Rulez :)

You hired A GIRL????
What is this world coming to?
At least you wont have to worry about her drinking all the beer!
I hope! :p
I hope she is cuter than Cormac! :(

Mr. Mick,

We have visited this subject before in our conversations and I'm glad you have taken the time to comment on this. One of the things that the forum members should be aware of is that EVERYONE waits...for both product and comms. The guys in the Dealer network wait just as long - if not longer as everyone else. No it's not a lot of fun ...but in custom products these things happen. The idea of someone being slighted and/or singled out would take more energy than you guys probably have...you could use that time to grind!

Anyway, thanks for bringing it up and congrats always for all your efforts there to make things happen as soon as you can.

Take Care/Stay Safe,

Joe

Hey Mick did you get my WB out today. ;)

Well, this may sound strange, but who cares about customer service? I just want the best knife possible. I have emailed a few times (well more than a few times regarding my folder, but that is beasides the point) and it may have taken some time, but I always got a response. That is all I am looking for from a maker. If I wanted someone to kiss my a$$, I would go somewhere else.

just my $.02

I have to agree with RJ, especially since I've only experienced great customer service with these guys. I bought my first knife from them nearly two years ago, and have purchased several since. Every one of them was delivered essentially when promised, and all my calls or emails were returned. And, whenever they promised something, it came through exactly as described.

To me, getting the best value in the knife business and a trust-your-life-on-it blade is the best definition of customer service. Try dealing with certain other well known California-based makers if you really want to find out the meaning of crappy customer service!

PS - hey Duane - how's that Mod AR coming along? :)

Indeed.

but who cares about customer service?
The customers, and the manufacturers. Not sure who else but those 2 definitely. If you read Micks message above that's what he says - we really pride ourselves in customer service.
And obviously you care about CS too. Don't tell me you enjoy hanging on hold for 15 minutes when some bank or the airport? That's a bad CS, isn't it?

If I wanted someone to kiss my a$$, I would go somewhere else.
Too bad if you don't see the difference between those.
Companies spend billions every year on Customer Relationshop Management software after all, you think that's all is a waste :)

I understand you want to show your support to Strider, believe me I'm trying to support them and I wish them the best.
But redefining CS as a$$ kissing isnt' the best way to do that.
Not that i am telling you what to do, just IMHO.

And at last, there's nothing wrong with telling someone openly about the problem. The sooner it's resolved the better it is, for the customers and for the maker.

Tom,
Get back out to the 4th of July party! I'm sure your wife needs you to carry something. Don't hurt your back, old man! Happy 4th!:D

Ryan, I was at a good 4th party. I took my M-4 and dumped a ful 30 round magazine of red tracer towards the moon and no one called the cops on me! :D

By the way, thanks to all the vetrans and servicemen past and present that makes celebrating this day possible! I bow my head to you!

Rob,
You have to live within 100 miles of anyone for them to call the cops on you. Are there more than 10 people living in MT? Glad you had fun though. Just got back from watching the fireworks over the strip. About 10 casinos had back to back shows going on. Pretty awesome. What was the knife you gave Tom called? I want one and will try to contact you via email. Happy 4th! Don't "gun face" anyone until you come back to Vegas! :D

Gator97,I did not mean to imply that customer service is all a$$ kissing. What I was refering to was someone emailing every week of a 6-8 month waiting period. Maybe that is OK for a bigger company but not for a custom knife maker. They are usually a 1-4 man operation and they can not spare the time. Like I said, all I look for is someone to answer an email now and then and I am happy. I do not need an immediate answer either. The person who was complaining about the CS was upset because it took more than 1 day for a response from Strider.

Hopefully that clarified my position.

Rich

I just wanted to add that having just acquired my first Strider knife yesterday and having been in contact with Mr. Dwyer for the last week, I wouldnt care if it took a month of Sundays to recieve goods from these guys. The knife I recieved is clearly the best one I have ever had and I have a few. I also think that when you are expecting a custom product, the wait could be quite long. I once had a gunsmith build a rifle that 10 months. Once I had it I realized the wait had been worth it.

Hi Rich,
Sure, understood :) Just sometimes things aren't exactly as we want them. Take care.

Gator-Pretty cool web address. Do you actually own all the knives on your site? Not so hot on DEP, but I love my POD and 2 H&K USP compacts!
