Well here y'all go. Pix from yesterday's excursion to the Tulsa Zoo. I'll leave 'em up for a few days but will have to delete them the next time I want to post pix, the 3 pix have used up almost all of my allotment.
How do y'all like my dorky hat?
The 1st one is at the River Otter Compound, off to the side. Can't take pix of the otters and me at the same time because the zoo officials would frown on it if I went swimming with the two otters, Dallas and Tweezer. Not many outsiders know their names.
2nd pic is by the entrance to the Rainforest, the rollator will go most everywhere.
3rd is at the Saimang/Langur overlook. It's at what used to be called "Monkey Island" which is just that, an island. Most monkeys don't like water and won't swim for it so an island is a good safe place for monkeys without using fences. There's a couple of cypress trees on their side that must be a good 60-70 foot tall and both species go all the way to the top!
They're amazing to watch, especially when they go hand over hand along a branch at that height!!!!
And both species love to languish around the top branches and it seems they all have their own favorite places to do so.
Our zoo is a great place to walk! It's secure, within reason, medical help is nearby, there are frequent benches to stop and rest on, mostly in the shade but varies throughout the day of course, and we never get tired of walking there because there is something new, or something we haven't seen before, every day.
I'm trying to get the officials to mark the trails with milage markers so people without pedometers can know how far they walk, but don't know if it's gonna happen.
If a lot of people knew how far they had walked and how far it was back to their cars I doubt that some would go as far as they do!
