i've seen this style lock on the CRK&T new lineup- but how exactly does it work? i know there is still a liner lock. does this work as a wedge? i see in pics that it seems to be on the back of the blade when open? i'd appreciate any input- they're relatively inexpensive and i may add one on for when i don't want to take my Kershaw Random Task out to play...
Thanks to all

Yes, it works like a wedge-type device. You engage the LAWKS and a piece of formed steel swings in under the liner lock bar, preventing it from disengaging accidentally. From what it looks like from the outside, the LAWKS is pivots at the blade pivot. The control lever is situated as such that you can open the blade and engage the safety all in one motion with a bit of practice. The LAWKS is simple but very effective.

Hate to be the party pooper, but does anyone else think it looks like it gets in the way of any number of grips, sitting as it does right over the thumb ramp/groove?

Is it removeable, either as a piece, or via dremel?

Stay Sharp,
