i paid for the basic membership less than a month ago. now that i have some PM's it's nowhere near enough. i want to get the gold, so i can also sell. can i get a discount?
 
just buy the membership you desire and Spark will prorate it with the additional time from the basic.
 
You might want to double check on that. I've been told that once you have a higher membership level that your previous one really isn't worth anything.

For example, I was a gold member and I wanted to become a dealer. My Gold wasn't supposed to run out until december 22nd of this past year '08. I bought my Dealer membership on the 13th of december and they both just counted the clock all the same until the gold ran out.

Now your situation might be slightly different since you just became a basic member. Things like this are on a case by case sort of thing :o
