OKCA 2016 (Oregon Knife Collectors Association) James G. Wins Display Award !!!

Buck Bryant pinged me his mailing address and I was able to send off his BCCI beautiful black hat and goody bag from all of his friends in the Buck Collector Club. Thank you members. You are all right. He said to tell you all thanks and that he will be back at it next year God willing and to bless you all.  That is the spirit. That is Chuck Buck kind of talk if ever I heard it. Where there is a will. And there is a will. There is a way. Bless you right back Buck Bryant. Bless you right back.

Yes Steve I did find that belt buckle.

Here is a Buck belt buckle I found at the show that I just had to grab. This is the first of this one I have seen.

That is a terrific find! Outstanding to locate a buckle out of all the tons of stuff stacked and stowed in that maze of shiny sparkly eye dazzling gotta haves. WOW! Was it much trouble to find? I would have bot it in a heart beat. I've never seen one like it and I've been looking for Buck buckles for a decade. You have a grand collection. Congratulations. Looks heavy and a 119 I'd have to say. Beautiful condition too. Grand Slam for you. Now that you have a show. Will you be taking it on the road? Next stop Atlanta and Blade???

Would anyone happen to know what model or name the white handle knife is on the bottom? I assume it was a limited run because I don't recall ever seeing one. I really like these two blades together on the same knife.

The Canoe is model 308 and they were originally produced for AG Russell. I think they also did some of them in black lip mother of pearl. If I had my resource materials at hand, I could be more definitive.

Thank you both, that's very helpful. I was able to find two models online, BUAG308BP (Black Pearl) and BUAG308S (India Stag). The blades are different steels (154CM - S30V) and are signed by AG Russell and Chuck Buck. That's pretty special.

Thanks Oregon for all these OKCA pictures! Cool stuff and I'm a "Lord of The Rings" fan too! After seeing TLR and at least 100 times and "The Hobbit" quite a few times I finally broke down and read the books; finishing up "The Return of The King" now. I wish I could be there with some disposable income!

My pleasure and you are welcome Peter.

OKCA is a once per year celebration of sharp stuff and a terrific opportunity to reunite with my betters from all corners. You are not too far away. No you are not. Bryant lives in Yuma, AZ. (his hat is out for delivery today BTW). Members get in on Friday, public gets in Saturday and Sunday. http://www.oregonknifeclub.org/

Who has the movie "HIGHLANDER" available for a screenshot of the complete credits? I believe that it was the original movie. I need a shot of the former Buck employee's name that is pictured above that is also listed in the credits of the movie. Yes. I do. Any body?

You need to go to each table three times before you can make a good attempt at what is there. I didn't make it once thru. Too much blather on my part. All my fault. Jaw boning has never been my way so I cannot explain myself most the time unless I am surrounded by cutlery on all sides and only then do I have something to talk about. It is true.

Don't gotta spend much to have BIG fun at the show. Did you see my haul = $45. Other years were different... Some things demand a new home!!!

I have the movie, but it would take many screenshots to capture the complete credits. Is this link helpful? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091203/fullcredits/

Thank you kindly BuckShack. I've gone thru every online credits for the original movie that I can google without joy. So that is why I didn't list the target's name and the exact movie/title. He said it in passing as we discussed the Hobbit knife and there are so many Highlander titles with the movies, sequels and TV shows... I'm hoping that an enthusiast will see this and have the full library and some time and run the credits from all of the various titles until they see his name. I should have nailed him down on the exact title but didn't. Some of what happened only comes back to me after a day or so. Spending time with fellow cutlery enthusiasts is like time on cutlery campus. You are bathed in information. For example: James found an interesting Buck automatic knife which set me looking and boy o boy did I find something which involves many players it is turning into a real story that I may tell here later after it unfolds. But it required many points of knowledge and many players only acquired over the years attending OKCA and meeting the players and becoming familiar with their skills.

Here ya go! Let me know when you're done, I'll probably want to delete them down the road.

Thank you buckshack but the data dump is not necessary. I'm just looking for one small screen shot of Mr. Remer's name in the credits of a Highlander work of art. If I had access to all Highlander movies and TV shows I would run the credits and see for myself. I don't have that access because I don't have that collection. I thought perhaps that someone reading this did. If someone does then maybe they will volunteer to sift thru the credits looking for Remer's name and if found take a screen shot and post that here or start a thread. Thank you. Just a thought.

James, Congratulations... :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: ...

Nice set up...

Great Pictures Steve... Like always...:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Oregon, just out of curiosity what was the price on the 122 Nemo? If you can recollect..

I was keen on all of Bruce's knives, as usual because his collection meet a high standard of quality, show price as I recall $1k to me a BCCI member. Price now would be other in all likelihood. I was there Sunday, last day of show. Bruce also had white space model, see pic above.

Ivan "Buck" Bryant asked me to pass along his thank you for your thoughts and prayers. He was in the VA hospital last week dealing with how to live with the consequences of a severe concussion. It will take time. He received his BCCI hat and goodie bag. Thank you members.

I wish Ivan a speedy and full recovery.

Thank you Steve for doing such a great thing for Ivan. You are a great man and a hero in my book.

James you and all of the terrific displaying Buck Collector Club award winners know how demanding of yourselves you are. One of the toughest parts of fighting back from an injury has got to be the drawn out time element of the healing rehabilitation process. It can't be and doesn't have to all be done in a day. Yet that is not the motto of the overachiever's club now is it? I see improvement in Ivan's emails even in this small window of time that we've been communicating before and after the OKCA mid-April show. I am so encouraged by this improvement I've begun to wonder about his collection. Was it with him at the time of the accident? Is it being taken care of? That sort of thing. Does anyone know?

Thank you for the kind words James.

This thread has the very best collection of Bucks I have seen in a single thread. .Forgive me for bringing this one back but I could not help myself, it has it all! I missed this thread when it was originally posted and it has pictures of of what I consider one of top custom 112's ever . .Damascus blade, black lip pearl, fancy inlays and a auto to boot! So for all who missed this the first time and for others to see some really great Bucks again !
