First off, Hello and Thank You for all the valuable information I found on this site.
I recently acquired a camp house from an elderly couple with many treasures left behind. One would be this Buck Skinner that I believe to be 1960s model? Not sure if it was considered the 103 or the 110.
Any and All Info would be greatly appreciated as I cant seem to find any pics or actual ones online with the same sheathing.
I have no use for it, and I don’t want to just sell it at a yard sale due to its history. It would make a great conversation piece if I knew it’s history and specs I’m sure . Again Thank you

I also aquired a 120 Sheath but no knife. Looks pretty vintage and 2006 buck 110

Welcome to the Buck forum.
Your model 103 Skinner is from about 1962 or 1963.
The 120 sheath would be mid to late 1970s.
Hope this helps.

The model 103 Skinner is indeed an old knife. It appears to be about 1965.

The 110 is a modern production and if I read the date code correctly it is 2006.

The blade of the 103 is in need of some proper care.

Was this the first Factory knife? Or still hand ground? I found an old thread. That said any w just BUCK stamped on them were hand.

Yes I agree it does need some TLC. He must have loved it, because it has some wear and tear on it

Beautiful 103 there.
The blade is 440C, I believe.
It is worthy of a visit to the Buck SPA. They will make it look new, and you'll have your choice of having it sharpened "period correct" or "Edge 2000"(?) geometry.

DSS was correct in his assessment of the date of the 103.The 1965 catalog shows the flap-over sheath, while the 1962-63 catalog shows the strap sheath like yours.I can't find any 1964 catalog.

You can send it back to Buck Knife company and have it refurbished or you can leave it in its current condition.
