Howdy guys,
A friend of mine was given this knife when he was a kid, which was quite awhile ago , and even then he said it was an old knife. Looks like some sort of trapper pattern to me. The handle scales are jigged wood, although almost all of the jigging has worn off. The clip blade was obviously used a good deal more than the skinning blade. Without attempting to make it like new I told him I'd clean it up and sharpen it for him, and he asked if I could find anybody who might know when it was made and what (if anything) it might be worth. It has Case XX stamped on the ricasso of the clip point blade, and 265SAB stamped on the other. As you can see, definitely not MINT but the scales are in decent shape, and both blades have their tips. Fair amount of walk and talk with the skinner blade, the main blade has noticeably less although it still clicks pretty well into place.
Anyway, definitely not my area of expertise so I figured I'd come to the gurus. Anything you could tell me would be appreciated, and I'll pass it along. My apologies for the picture quality--I'm currently having to borrow a camera and I'm even less competent with it than I am with mine. Not to mention I seem to have lost the first two shots I took which gave the profile...
