Old Beckerhead, new forum member!

what's funny is that after i snagged that $95 brute bk1, i sold it for $700

then bought two more for $55 :D

Welcome aboard! You're only five posts in, and you have like twice times the number of Beckers that I do. You're clearly off to a good start.

And I too would also like a BK9 with a drop point. I used to want it in 1/4in stock as well, personally after using the 9 for the past few years, I've discovered that I actually don't want anything thicker, as I've never had something that the 3/16in thick stock couldn't handle, and would just as soon save the extra weight. That said, I bet there would be more than a few lining up to buy a thicker BK9 if it was ever released.

Was thinking Bushcraft large chopper.... the 0.25 would carry more weight I agree, but it would be weight that would aid in heavy chopping tasks, especially combined with the increased tip forward balance when made a true drop point instead of a swedge..... it would make the 9 and 16 the perfect pair IMHO for Bushcraft tasks for those of us who like to run a 2 knife setup.... not saying the current 9 doesn't do a great job as a big camp chopper.... just that IMHO for that specific task it would be better at 0.25 with a drop point at least IMHO.....as always YMMV!

The clip point swedge has always seemed to me to be more of a combat utility style blade shape, and I think its represented well in the BK7 and 17 combo....for that style of knife, I think they are just about perfect...

Given that the 5 and 15 are almost identical other than size, and so is the 7 and 17... it just seems to me the 9 16 pair is " off " with the 9s swedge.... most likely due in part to my OCD, but still LOL.... a drop point 0.25 9 is my grail knife.

Likely will be something I'll entertain having custom made some day but of that I'm VERY leery.....my first 2 experiences with custom knives have been complete and utter disappointments.....but those are stories for another thread :(

Seems to me that you have this Becker thing on lockdown. Welcome to the digital for(u)m of the addiction :)

I have a knife not unlike what you describe, i little longer and convexed. The drop point is real nice, but it's awfully hard to beat the king in his court.

Welcome again and always remember to know when you're having fun.
