Old Boxes vs New Boxes.....!!!

Okay guys/gals.....!!! Its been over a year now when CRK introduced their "new" boxes. How do we like them so far.....???

I personally like the several styles of the "old" corrugated ones. Meaning the thicker more square ones to the longer thinner ones before the "new" style box was introduced. The "old" ones seems nearly as tough as the sebenzas/mandi/zaan's themselves. ( as far as boxes go anyways )....lol.

The new ones, well to me are just horrible. I do like the foam insert, but as for the boxes themselves, they either end up torn or badly wrinkled after opening and closing them just a few times. I have even received them from dealers with slight tears on them already from them handling them.

Maybe I am "old school", but I loved opening up those tough as nails corrugated boxes and seeing my new sebenza wrapped in a blue CRK cloth......and even going back furthur the white tissue paper.....:D

PS: I just noticed my Gold membership expired, come payday I will be Golden Again....!!!

I'm old school that way too.
I don't think I've purchased a new CRK to even be able to compare. Are the new ones easier to ship? I know the old school ones don't fit well in small flat rate boxes.

I will always love the older boxes too, but i will admit that the newer ones seem better at securing the contents and presenting of the knife. Id rather the unraveling of the blue cloth though anyday!

I prefer the older corrugated boxes over the new ones. The new ones are difficult to even open without damaging them. They are also a bitch to get all the contents back in.

Strong dislike for the new boxes. It's probably easier to write the Declaration of Independence on a grain of rice while on horseback than stuff everything correctly back into the new boxes without ripping it up.

I definitely like the older boxes. I have a hard time opening the new ones with out stretching them or ripping them. I also find the older ones easier to store, but that's just because the fit perfectly into the area I keep them. I have to stack the new ones sideways.

Haha, yeah putting everything back into the new ones is like trying to get 10 pound of crap into a 5 pound bag... Or box

Definitely the older boxes, I am not educated enough in physics to get everything back in the new style box.
I received my LH 25 in the old style box, maybe there's still hope.

the trick to the new box is to wedge all the contents between the two foam pieces before sliding it in. also do it with both ends open.

Out with the new, back with the old!

I like the old boxes Much Better. As another poster said it's like trying to get 10 # of crap into a five pound box.

The blue cloth has to be folded the same way it came out or everything doesn't fit. I don't use it...I use a couple

of them once in a while. The new box is tooo small and the material is too thin and flimsy.

Change isn't always good. The new box is a Good example.

I much prefer the old box, but I have a feeling that the new ones are here to stay! I was just thinking of a couple of things we whine about in this forum- like Idaho made and new boxes! lol

This, they function just fine as a box but they are nothing like as "repack" friendly as the old style boxes.

I don't really care for the new box either (for all of the above listed reasons), but it does appear that they would fit into a USPS small flat rate box better than the old ones.

The last style of the old boxes ( the longer thinner ones ) fit nicely in the small flat rate boxes.

Lol..... I personally never minded the "Idaho Made" and was proud to see that they are Made In The USA.

Any pics of the new box - I have not purchased a new knife in a long time.....

I love Idaho Made. Super cool and reminds me of potatoes which I also love.

I love the look of the new packaging and how professional it is. But It does take a beating when you go to get your goodies out constantly. It actually takes technique to stuff the pile of junk back in the box.
