Old Boxes vs New Boxes.....!!!

Strong dislike for the new boxes. It's probably easier to write the Declaration of Independence on a grain of rice while on horseback than stuff everything correctly back into the new boxes without ripping it up.

The trick to opening then without damaging the box is to open both ends with the blade spine, just pry it up. Putting everything back in is straightforward, just feed it in with a ruler to keep everything pressed down and compact.

I have to wonder what Chris now thinks about all this box collecting and knife being worth more with box. I believe it was in the DVD where he said he went with a plain white box vs something fancier, because people would just throw them away. Little did he know.
I don't have any of the new boxes so I can't speak on that but the old do hold up well. My only complaint is that they don't fit in USPS small flat rate boxes.

I'd love the new boxes if they didn't tear so easily, and have fond memories of the original packaging with just the tissue paper. But my favorite was the longer, thinner cardboard boxes with the knife wrapped in the blue microfiber. Simple, elegant, and easy to use and store.

Having never held a new box I will say I like the older ones. I like the old square ones over the longer ones for no other reason that I like old stuff (like me). Now that should settle the argument. Was there an argument? Oh well just my .02.

I prefer the old old boxes too. This may be a way to save money and I would much rather take the new box over an increase in the cost of the knives. Not sure if this is the reasoning behind the new boxes - just a thought. It is all about the knives though - Right?:)

I damaged a new box opening it - frustrating. On the other hand the old boxes bend the birth card. Beings that I am lazy, I prefer the old box....

I agree. They war far easier to store. You can almost fit 2 of these boxes in the space the new ones take up. They rip far to easily as well, no matter how careful you are.
