Old car in the woods

scuba diving once in an old quarry, at the bottom, very amusements that only divers will know ...

someone built, by hand, by moving rocks, a large cairn and placed on top - a toilet nice.

there was also a car, which we got into and "drove". hah. popped the hood, checked the oil - oops - it floats - just a few drops after all these years.

I found a toilet topped "cairn" whilest spelunking. Actually much of my camping is following these old caverns looking for weird stuff.

Also going off what you said about most trees being relatively recent I remember someone telling me every tree in this area can be linked to one man. Can't recall his name at the top of my head, but apparently the canadian shield was pretty thick up this ways until he got fed up with all the rocks.

I have this image in my head of every tree being ancient. But 50 years is a very long time. Makes you ponder.

Finding stuff like that is a blast. I'm forever finding old farm implements in the woods. Some of it pretty big. In upstate NY there is a lot of abandoned farm land and land that is being reclaimed by forests. Rock walls are all over the place.

I found dead guy once at a "city" lake. True story. He was slumped against his steering wheel with a hole in his head. Suicide or murder who knows.
