old cold steel trail hawk question

i found an hawk a my local pawn shop and i think its a trail hawk but what makes me wonder if its not is that the head doesnt have a set screw. is this because its just an older model or what? Thanks.

It's an older model. They aren't bad hawks, but because they are inexpensive the heads fit the handles pretty poorly. I find that the set screw on the newer models actually help quite a bit.
If you do buy this hawk you may want to spend some time with a round file cleaning up the eye so the handle fits better.
