Old Dogleg Jack

Some real beauties there guys. Nice photos too.
A bit off topic but, isn't there a way for the Phone Camera guys to crop their images to fit?
Greg

Most later smart phones have a "crop" tool!!
It sure is a better presentation if a knife "fills" the frame!!;)

I don't need or use a cell phone so I didn't know one way or another. But I agree that is only proper for the image to at least come close to fitting a fair sized computer screen.

I debated with myself whether to post this fella in this thread or not. There's an Old Boy, here in the South, that makes pocket knives out of old parts. He'll bee seen at Flea Markets and Knife Shows digging thru old parts and will have a table with 10 or 12 pieces for sale. They almost always are re-scaled in a horrid color of what appears to be Delrin. Some are spot on with great snap and blade fall. Others, not so much. They usually sold for about 40 bucks or so. This piece has some Miller Brothers blades and heaven only knows where the rest of the knife came from. Blades are sanded down to get the pits out of the blades so they are a tad thin. I put an edge on this little guy that will scare you. Regardless of it's pedigree, it's a darn good user, has some nice bolsters and the Old Boy doesn't have any trouble selling them. I guess you can say they were made in the USA..........twice.

knowtracks knowtracks great examples as usual Dave :thumbsup:

mckgreg mckgreg very interesting the work you showed by that Old Boy, nice to see some skill at 'recycling' yet not trying to pass things off as fakes, which the greedy & unscrupulous might . Old courtesy still exists in places

Here's an early Winchester dog leg that I had at one point. Sorry for the bad pic, Greg!

Had at one time? You mean somebody persuaded you to let it go? Here in Europe, you won't find anything like that :(

Interesting wave style jigging, does it have a proper name?

Thanks, Will

Will, I have heard that style of jigging called Napanoch bone, but whether it's actual bone from Napanoch prior to Winchester buying it, I'm not certain. Too bad I can't keep all of them over the years.
