Interesting that you mention the Dragonfly, as I think their Roadie is also a great option for aging fingers. If I understand correctly, discussing that knife is out of bounds here for the ridiculous reason that the proverbial “guy from the 1960s would find the blade shape too odd.” Ridiculous because we’ve all seen any number of odd blade reshaping of traditionals. Check out any flea market or antique show and you’ll see what I mean.

In either case, if you are a diehard slipjoint person, and your aging fingers aren’t, the Roadie may represent a good compromise.

Although I think very highly of the Sword mini peasant, riding well in the pocket isn't one of it's virtues. The extended tang makes for easy open and functions well as a "lock" (your grip holds it open), but it doesn't make for easy pocket carry unless you hold it upright somehow. Back pocket carry with a bandana in there too to hold it upright works as well.

Interesting you bring up the wife. A good guide for my preferences is if my wife can't open it, the springs are unnecessarily strong.
It is very practical you see. A nail breaker causes a trip to the salon and really cuts into my knife money!!;)

Comfortable pocket carry for me is a deal breaker. My knives spend more time in the pocket than they do in my hand.
