Greetings and Merry Christmas to everyone! I’ll call this one “Old Fashioned” I guess… (what my wife calls me all the time.) It does have an old timey vibe to it. Actually similar to an old West Cut Colorado that was my “first” knife.

Steel is 3/32” x 1” in 8670 with HT at 60/61. Hand sanded to 1200 grit for a fine satin finish. The edge was about .010” before sharpening and it balances on the leather block.

Dimensions: 9 7/8” OAL, Tip to guard is 4 7/8”

The handle includes a brass guard with leather and Bocote. accented with blue G10 and brass spacers. It’s finished to 1200 grit, then oiled and waxed. The sculpted handle feels great in my average sized hand with room to spare.

This reminds me of my first real “big knife,” which I used more than fifty years ago. That one was lost along life’s highway. So, I’ll take this one to fill that hole in my memories. PM sent.

Way to go. John makes a good knife. There is just something so useful and cool for a knife this size, I call them Cowboy Bowies, more of a hunting or utility knife than a fighter.
