I was recently commissioned to make this for a 75th birthday present.
3" 1075 blade & dyed red stag with brass fittings and red fibre spacers.
Let me know what you think:)

that's my favourite knife of yours so far:thumbup:

Thanks for your comments chaps:)
Lin, I dyed the stag with Fiebings tan leather dye. Originally it was almost pure white.

Cheers, Ian

Nice looking knife. It looks like it would feel good in hand.

Fiebings was always very good leather dye.

I have used a propane torch to color deer antler. It was done by passing the flame over it in a way similar to spray painting in not letting the flame stay in one place very long. When I mentioned doing it to a knifemaker some years back, he warned of that drying out the antler, but it was quite a few years ago and the antler still looks good.

Very nice work there irbailey. I really love the flow from blade through the handle. As peterinct stated, looks like it would feel real good in your hand.

Thanks for all your kind remarks. :)
Think I'll try the burnt stag trick, cheers for the info.
