Hello -
I am quite new to this site, but I understand it is the best there is. I just purchased a new Bowie Knife that caught my eye on Ebay yesterday and was hoping to find out some additional information regarding it.
This knife is in good condition with some pitting and scratches on the blade but no breaks or cracks. THe hilt is brass and the curved handle is wood held in place with brass brads. The 10 1/4" blade has the Fernando Esser horse emblem and logo and is also engraved with "Mathilde Ellsworth" surrounded by an etched floral and vine frame. Overall length is 15". I know that it was manufactured in Elberfeld, Germay which is just north of Solingen but that is it.
Wondering ballpark date of manufacture and value
