don't fret too much over some of peoples remarks about your long winded post for myself I tried to read it but I couldn't and not for any fault of yours but I am often pressed on time and at a certain point I had to say to myself just go to the summary. I appreciate that you bothered to give those who couldn't/wouldn't read the full story a summary.
I think you have gotten a lot of good options listed in this thread for new models. It is difficult to give you specific older models or models in the 2ndary market. Older items can just be a problem to find in stock along with sometimes being gone before you can get to it. The difficulty of the 2ndary market are there is no notice for what is coming and the pricing can fluctuate so the best you can do is just go to the 2ndary market and dig for treasure you may come up with nothing but sometimes you can strike gold.
