OLD John Deere Farm equpment (Big No.4)

I am currently in the process of restoring my big no4 and if anyone could help me find a few parts I would love the help. I will attach a few pics later I need to bring my camera to my shop. This thing is a blast to work on, by the way I am restoring this to operating condition.

Thanks

I know this is an old thread but can someone tell me where we might find out how much the john deere #4 is worth? We have one exactly like the pictures in this thread and it has all of its parts. We are interested in selling it as it sits in our front yard as a pond ornament and we're tearing it out. Thanks!

That is cool. I've always liked old Farmall tractors myself. My Dad had one back in the 70's that had to be 30 years old then.

Seeing those pictures and then going out today into 92 degree high humidity reminds me how soft I've become. I go from ac in house to ac in car to ac in office. I can't even imagine being out there haying under those conditions.

I know what you mean Shann. The temp here in the late morning was 87 degrees. But the heat index was 102 degrees.... misery. Hope you discover typical pricing on the JD mower. I have a plow (horse drawn type) in a large flower bed.

It's worth what you can talk someone into giving you for it....

good guidelines are

restore-able(all parts not working or rusted through) 150

working 250

restored 500-1200 depending on quality of restore and collector

market for these isn't that broad, JD collectors mostly want the tractors and rare stuff...these aren't all that rare, and most that want one have it or can get it
