Old (?) Ka-bar traditional pocket knives, anyone still has and uses these?

Seems to be pre-WII but not real old.

Made wartime or just after, the KA-BAR over Olean N Y stamp did not start until 1942 or 43 with the advent of the military knives so marked and was used for a year or two after the war. This mark was superceded by the KA-BAR over USA stamp and the Carbon KA-BAR Chrome mark and finally the Kabar lower case italicized mark. The KA-BAR over Olean NY mark superceded the KA-BAR over Reg US Pat Off and Union Cutlery company marked knives.

Any idea what the scales are made of? Unusual color in my limited experience. Good condition for the age.

I don't know what the scales are made of. Your knife is in very nice condition! I think the scales are perhaps a similar man-made composition like the colored fiber washers used on some of their pre-war hunting knives.
