Hello. I've got a variety of older knives (fixed blade, folders, butterflys) that are mainly kept in shallow glass cases with cotton liners. Does anyone know of a good protectant/lubricant that would keep the rust away without being totally absorbed by the cotton?

Thanks!

Have to admit, I have never put lube on a knife, but have done so on many guns. There are several cloths on the market that dry coat metal to give it protection. Most are Silicone gun cloths or the like. Go to a gun shop or sporting goods, they will probably have what you are looking for.

WK,

For storage setups like yours, I'd say the use of Flitz, Simachrome, or similar products to protect the blades and metal parts from oxidation is the way to go.
