"Old Knives"

Nice knife, made for Sperry & Alexander. Nicely marked; I love the deep stamping on the blade - much more permanent than an etch. It does seem to be an NYK . . . . . . .

NYK Co. whittler with an unfortunate “disaster” of a crack on the front and another on the back.

Mike,

The color of the scales on your NYK is :thumbup:

Also interesting the dual pulls on the master, thanks for posting!

Happy Thanksgiving

A similar configuration in horn. Worms like horn for some reason.Mines a bit of a sleaveboard. How long is that one Mike?

Thanks Ken. Navihawk it's right at 3 inches, so I'm assuming it's smaller than yours. Thanks for posting it.

That's beautiful....I love it. great collection, but wondering, is the one in the top left corner a fixed blade? It looks like it.

Hey, also, hawk, to get worms away from horn, just douse it and polish it in a very, very, very diluted alchahol. It might "hurt" the horn a little, but it will work, and the worms would prolly do more damage than the horn

HIGHCARBON STEEL stamp and "Craftsman, Sta-Sharp" etch on the master blade. This 5 blade cattle knife is quite a find and very rare. This one covered with Rogers bone, they were made for Sears by Camillus between 1927-1940.

Hi guy's,

I have very much enjoyed having a browse through this huge thread, really interesting.

I would like to add this rather unusual looking example, guessing it was made mid 19C ? of German origin, not sure ? it measures 5" closed, has iron liners with integral bolsters, horn scales and a very unusual blade :D
