"Old Knives"

Paul, I watched an 895 at auction recently and the seller had it listed as 3 3/8". Must have been a typo, thanks for clarifying

Examples of all sizes of schrade’s old stockman frames.

From left to right you have 4 5/16”, 4” square, 4” round, 4” slim, 3 1/2” round, 3 9/16” slim, 3 5/16” square, and the tiny 2 3/4” round.

Great rundown on the sizes, Paul!! Nice examples also!!

C Cryrow - you should really private message people if you want to approach them about their knives being for sale - not out in the public forum. Hey.. we all have done this at some time stating to a person- " hey if you ever sell that Knife" etc - but as said, doing that in a form of private message is accepted more so :)
Hi so sorry I’m new to this I hope this is a private msg iv sent you aswell I’m interested in your flat cap knifes would you consider selling me eny xxxx

Paul, a virtual cornucopia of Schrade sepentines and different jigged bone handle colors👍 Love them!!

Here are a couple of Robeson PocketEze double bomb shield folders. I don’t know if this harder to find shield
pattern is earlier or later in production? Anyone know? Also unusual is the color of the jigged bone handles—sort of a “chocolately”
brown. The top premium stockman has handle jigging that is sort of irregular and looks like they couldn’t quite decide what
pattern of jigging they were after. The stockman is 3 7/8 inches and the Jack is 3 & 5/8 inches.

Hi there Cryrow - no apologies needed for me my friend, I think you may have to be a paying member to be able to Message people, and no that wasn't a private message :)

Lloyd matey- two gorgeous examples once again, you are right you just don't see that Shield shape as often do you, I think the Bone Colouring is quite magnificent on the Both of those knives my friend.
Absolutely Love that Premium Stock and its Blade etch! that Jack isn't any slouch either:eek:

Thanks for this impressive image. Do you know which of them were eventually produced as Old Timers? As Uncle Henrys? Thank you!

Yes. All of those frames went on to be old timers and uncle henry’s except the 4 5/16”, the 4” round and 3 1/2” round. There were no 4” slim frame uncle henrys but there was one old timer.

It must have been. Schrade had a 3 3/8” frame but it was equal end, used for cattle knives and various jacks.

Thanks Charlie.
Thanks Paul, appreciate you sharing your knowledge of Schrade knives
