Beautiful Jigged Bone on that German Knife Jose!
Nice L.F & C Lockback Cal! Is that a hint of the old etch still remaining - or is it my eyes playing tricks on me?There has been some loose talk about Landers Frary & Clark around the porch here lately. I dug this one out; I had written ebony in my notes but I think cocobolo. 4 7/16 inches closed. Sorry about what is likely a re-post from some time back.

Nice pick up on that Schrade Lyle, lovely Jigged Bone on Both yours and Charlies examples! The Long pull on both sides is great!A recent purchase, not a farmers jack , but a horticultural knife and an enigma. the pruning blade is more of a farmers jack blade than typical Schrade pruners. The handles are different and it has an old long pull nick on mark and pile side! The mark side being very similar to one Charlie posted along an A Fields a while back .
If the knife was ever apart , a Tony Bose-like mechanic would have had to have done it. He once showed me a knife and said that had never been taken apart. He then chuckled as he said "If I had you wouldn't know it".

This is the similarly jigged SCC Charlie posted with his A Fields a while back.

And here's another pretty nice one!!On a side note, LF&C did produce pocket knives right up until 1939.

Your eyes are telling the truth!!!Is that a hint of the old etch still remaining - or is it my eyes playing tricks on me?
It is an early one, 99% sure made by Walden Knife Co.Nice memories of Ivoryman. Any idea who made the Keen Kutter?

This L,F and C knife still functions very well!! I couldn't pick up the etch with the scanner, but it clearly says "UNIVERSAL" on the blade!!
The Black wood has those grayish areas seen on some African Blackwood!!
A recent purchase fromtongueriver ; thanks Cal!!
Two nice choices Dan, Im extremely sorry to see that Brian passed away, I dint know him, but to see such a young man leave this Earth is very sad.Two knives I got from the estate of a knife friend who died way too young. An early Keen Kutter and a Case XX barlow. I will carry them both to the 2026 OKCA show in memory of Brian. The ivory bead and elk tooth pendant were both carved by Brian.
