c1920s (?) Clauss Fremont, Ohio
According to Houston Price, Clauss had knives made by Schatt & Morgan and Case and may have also made some of their own knives.

Nice one.

Robeson also apparently made knives for Clauss.

Here's a Robeson marked two blade jack with a Clauss shield.

Just wonderful Clauss Jacks! Nice ones, Jake and Charlie!!

I was awful tempted by that Clauss, Jake! (Recently on the Bay?)

You guys might be right about the Case heritage. Charlie, nice Clauss/Robeson! ...I've made a note in my knife books. Charlie, I bought the knife on...

Some really nice knives have been posted to this thread lately.

I really liked the Robesons!

You guys come up with some really good stuff.

I've been perusing the entire thread over the last few days.

There are lots of photos missing and it's unfortunate, as many of the postings were from Vince (VCM-3) and Jake (SupraTentorial) and you've just got to know that those were some beautiful knives.

Most, but not all, the missing photos were from PhotoBucket.

Is there anything that can be done to restore them to the site?

Charlie, I recently messed up my Photobucket links when I started moving stuff into separate albums. I'll see what I can do.

Jake,

A very cool knife! Incorporating a tapered spacer along with a locking master is a very difficult knife to build. The Remington lockback whittler with raised locking tab has a tapered spacer also. I am curious, is the lockbar tapered also?

Ken, The lockbar isn't tapered... I'd like to check with a caliper but I'm not at home so I'm just eyeballing it. There is a space around the lockbar and the scales. I'll post a photo after it stops raining.

The main blade is full but unfortunately the small blades are broken. They have enough left to open them and the spring tension is spot on.

I forgot to photo that lockback!

Here's a Remington UMC Easy Opener that I rescued from the 'Bay (auction photo). It arrived today. The blades are rusty and have some chips but they're full... possibly never re sharpened. Original finish. UNCLEAN!! There's a very light Remington etch on the main blade. The jigged bone isn't even worn. The bail is missing.

"Get in my pocket!"
