"Old Knives"

Thanks for the comments on the locking knife guys. Much appreciated. :-)

I have not shown this Needham Bros knife for quite some time. It dates to circa 1880.

Another choice item s-k!

Shows remarkably light wear for its age, a few peppers but the scales look like they did on boxing. Deeply impressive both the condition and the pattern.

Enjoy Christmas & New Year, Will.

Lovely knife, SK! So well made, interest nail nick location on the main and the fact that access to it is from the pile side. A nice coping blade for a little whittling while you wait.

Quite the knife it is. :)
What grabs my attention about it is the file which is very reminiscent of the black/dark tool steel that I am used to seeing on a typical bastard file, etc. I wonder how they joined the two types of steel to accomplish that?

That's a real beauty SK. How long is it? It's very similar to a IXL Wostenholm that I have. Those old cutlers sure knew how to do it right.

After seeing S-K's outstanding Needham, it reminded me of my little sweetheart of a knife- prety much the exact type of workmanship - just stunning - to this day this knife works superbly, the walk and talk is good enough to sit around the table with Charlie at his Breakfast meets with his knife friends - and I am sure I could hold my head up with this little beauty ( I have shown it before so please forgive me for repeating myself )...

This Peach - Seeded beauty is indeed one of my favorites.

Very nice Needham Bros SK.:thumbup::)

Duncan - I would be proud to show that DE just about anywhere - very fine workmanship indeed.:thumbup::)

You can show that Needham once a week if you want s-k! Wonderful knife!
Same for your D-E, Duncan! A fine piece!

Haha...thanks for the comments guys-to be honest, I would love to sit at each and every one of your tables with that knife.
