"Old Knives"

Wow, I like that one. I think that is the only cokebottle harness jack I have ever seen. Charlie, have you ever seen any other cokebottle harness jacks?

That fiddle back harness jack (I couldnt resist :D) is to die for.

Thanks for sharing Kerry.

Cattaraugus made one. Here's a poor example, with a very tipped punch and a worn blade. A handful at 3 3/4" long. Beautiful handles though.

Here's a nice Remington Stockman with a punch, R3515 w/celluloid handles, barely used. The etch on it looks like new and the celluloid is in great shape.

 Nice Knife, not sure what it is about a Acorn shield but I really like the way it sets the scales off, maybe it's because you don't see alot of them?

I have always really liked Richtig knives. I have a small paring knife that I use all the time. His kitchen knives don't really go for what they used to, but the prices of his leather handled combat knives are getting pretty crazy. On an unrelated note, here is an old fruit knife that I got last week. MOP handles and blade, ivory spring. - Dan

Don't I know it. :) My wife had one her grandfather brought back from WW2, and hard times hit. She needed the money, and sold it for $3500 on EBay. :D

I promised I would show what I was buying with the money I raised selling some of my custom knives. I believe they belong in this thread, and here are two of them. A 4-blade 4-line Camillus, all blades marked and perfect patina! Then a Boker with a beautiful etch. There are more to come, so watch this thread!:D

I don't know much about Boker, so perhaps someone can fill in some info??

Beautiful knives, Charlie. I'm glad I helped pay for 'em. ;)

I appreciate the contributions, Elliott!!:D
Two more from the same "mutual fund"!

If you can't cut something with that bottom knife, you can at least beat the heck out of it:p!

Here are a couple of my latest Allentowns Charlie, a 4" and a 3-3/8".

The spring on this 4" doesn't look as hefty as your Empire. but I got two long pulls on one knife ! :p

Nice Jacks Fran! It looks like they peen 'em by hand in Allentown;-)

Here are some that I picked up over the weekend. Top is an Olcut by Union, next is a 5'' Case XX toothpick that has seen better days, then a 4 line Camillus stockman, and last is a Wedgeway made by Utica for Morley Bros. Hardware in Saginaw Michigan. I picked up some others that I will take pics of later - Dan

That larger Allentown sure has Challenge written all over it.

That larger Allentown sure has Challenge written all over it.

Germany, Sheffield, or Bridgeport do you think ?

One of the Wolfertz brothers was an agent for their company in N.Y.C., and as clannish as the German immigrants were, I'm not surprized that they'd do business with Wiebusch & Hilger.

My latest. Pickings are getting slim in my area. So since I didn't have a little fob knife in my meager collection I picked this one up.

Meriden Knife Co ,with a gold bail an plating.

My guess is Bridgeport, but I may be wrong. The bone looks a lot like some other Challenge knives I have seen, and the only place I have seen that particular shield has been on Challenge knives or contract knives that were probably made by them.

At any rate, it's a very nice jack that would probably be happier in my collection, with some fellow Challenge jacks. At least that is what it told me....

A paring knife. It has a little swedge atop the blade.
