"Old Knives"

Charlie kind Sir - thank you so very much- that's wonderful information!!!!

Wow- no wonder I love that little knife so much because I am such a fan of J Rodgers!

Here are bunch of knives that my brother unearthed for 15€'s in old things shop he bought box in box there was whole bunch of knives. I post some of them here as he can clean them up. They are pretty much 70 to 40 years old. Some of the Cobbler's blades were stamped from late 30's to 50's. But some of these are old knock off's some are A.G. Berg of Eskiltuna Sweden made knives. Most need still identification but some of them are still already well rescued:

Old Fiskars knife. Tang stamp says Fiskar's but Fiskar's won't help in identification of the knife. So date is yet unknown but several decades. Handles seem to be wood and unlike other's which were looked like old wood but were discovered of plastic or celluloid:

Unknown Czechoslovakian folder, with Flower tang stamp. Was nothing but heap of rust before bath. Will take soime more careful restoration before maker can be unearthed but blades open and red plastic handles are shown. It was all rusty brown prior first bath. Already a user:

One of the Esklultina knives, the quite fancy folder. Date unknown but style was quite common in 30's:

Part of the Cobbler's blades. In lot there was like 20+ of them. These have Eskiltuna stamp and are between 1948 and 1956.

I picked up this Brookes & Crookes Fisherman's Knife a few weeks back, thought it was quite interesting.

Thanks Charles, my apologies for the usual poor quality of my photos. The covers are synthetic, but not French Ivory

That is a cool knife Jack, i too would have picked that one up- Love seeing your finds my friend - just awesome! I like the slightly extra care to detail even on the Bail!

Thanks Duncan, it's nicely made, and in better condition than some of the wrecks I pick up! :D

These 3 knives are all different brands yet are similar enough to likely have the same manufacturer, although which i don't know, but E.C.Simmons would be a good guess.
I very much like the tight black quality of old Ebony and these handle covers are thick and nicely rounded which makes for a fine in hand feel.

Thanks for the kind words. Soon i will post a trio of my favorite pattern, the Four Blade Senator which i think demanded the most of the cutler.
