Augie my friend- I too would be extremely happy with that Robeson - at a quick glance I almost mistook it for a NY Knife with that beautiful Bone - often the Robeson Bone work would be slightly coarser in the recesses - stunning!

Augie, A couple more great old soldiers there!

That is just a very nice Old Catt Mark !!!! Does the Pile Side still have good color like the Mark Side does ???? It really is As Good As It Gets like you said .
Does your son have a collection to put that Gem into ? What a find !!!!

Harry
Harry, sorry I meant to answer your question and somehow didn't.
My son does have a growing collection of mostly GECs.:) He saw how much I liked the old Catt and kindly gifted it to me for Fathers Day!!
The pile side does have good color in my opinion, here is a shot of it.

It surely does have good color !!!!! IMO Cattaraugus made Jigged Bone as good as anybody's and better than most .
Congrats again a very fine knife my friend and thank you very much for the additional picture .

Steve, that is a nice old Camillus, not easy to find.

Thanks everyone for the comments on the Robeson. I've been on a lucky streak with jacks lately, it's funny how vintage knife collecting works, go months without finding anything and then the floodgates open.

Picked up this old Utica teardrop this week, I think this is an early one, both blades have curved Utica tang stamps, hammered pins, great bone and a very unique profile spear blade with a very wide pull, lot of interesting features on this jack.

Augs, man what a Sweet Knife- Just check out that Bone, That is incredible work, I really want to learn more about Jig work- but there is such a shroud of secrecy around it, but that is right up there with any early Robeson Bone/Jig work, Miller etc, What a stunner!
Just look at the size of the Long Pull - man thats a wide deep Pull, and nothing goes better with gorgeous Bone like Hammered pins!

Awesome to see the tangs so clearly too... you don't see 'em often with the line under the "Co" that clearly, outstanding Augie! :) I've really taken a liking to the Utica knives.
