Up for sale is the only Full Wharny ever made by Mick himself - Mick Strider Custom SNG Frag Grip Edition V3
Here are the specs of the knife ( i took it from Monkeyedge where i once bought it ):
About the MSC Frag SnG Project: From the time we started offering Frag Grip textured scales for the Strider fixed blades people have been asking "When will we get a Frag Grip SnG?" Well after much work at the Mick Strider Custom skunk works, it is finally happening! These are full, hand ground Mick Strider Custom SnG's. The Frag SnG's are similar in size to a CC (Concealed Carry) model with the addition of the Frag texture. The Frag texture feels great in the hand. Nice and grippy without being overly aggressive.
About MSC Frag V3: These are full double titanium (as opposed to the normal titanium lock side with G10). Both sides are titanium with Frag texture. We are huge fans of the Wharnie at Monkey Edge and after seeing the response to Brady's personal knife that Mick made for him in wharncilffe profile, we sweet talked Mick into doing this limited run. This aggressive wharncliffe blade is CPM S35VN with stonewashed flats and satin grinds. The double titanium frame has been Ion Bond DLC coated black and the clip is engraved with the mighty Maverick Monkey logo. Each one comes in a MSC (Mick Strider Custom) logoed pouch from CSM Gear.
About PVD DLC: PVD is Physical Vapor Deposition and is a process by which a material is evaporated and then deposited (coated) onto a surface. Unlike many coatings that are thick and have high spots, PVD coatings can literally be laid on atoms thick and the coating is even. In this case, the DLC stands for Diamond Like Coating in which the material being deposited is carbon (along with a trade secret of other minerals). The result is a tough finish that is incredibly corrosion resistant. In addition, it just plain looks badass! PVD is not a paint and therefore will not flake off. This really turns this SnG into the ultimate EDC custom that has the "go" to back up the "show"
NOTE:
- Limit one knife per customer
- This special project is NOT eligible for any layaway flex pay. Any orders placed must be paid for in full during checkout. Any orders not paid for, will be cancelled with no notice.
- Inventory is allocated by "First come first served"to whoever completes the checkout process and actually has an order. This means, if it is in your shopping cart, it is NOT "on hold" and somebody can still order it and this will remove it from your cart, so check out quick!
Ramblings (you don't have to read this part): With limited, high demand items like this, the demand FAR exceeds supply. By this very simple math, that means there are going to be folks that miss out. As gear-heads ourselves, we understand what it is like to want to get that hot or special piece and miss out. It sucks. We get it. At the end of that day though, that's life. Nobody always gets what they want. We always seem to get hate mail after something like this from people that are pissed that they did not get one along with their definition of what is "fair". We understand that people are different time zones, limited access to computers, etc. However, the reality is that we cannot make up for all of life's circumstances. Which is why we have worked hard to keep things as impartial and level as humanly possible:
- We don't play any favorites. Knives are first come first served. We do not set any aside for buddies or select people.
- There is no insider information given out as to when we will post the knives up. Any information given is given on public forums like Facebook or USN where everybody has the same info at the same time.
- We limit items to one per person on hot items.
- We vary the day of the week and time of day that we post hot items to keep people from "camping" and hitting refresh as well as allowing for different time zones.
