Old Remington Scout Knife

Great snag, I could never afford it but to be honest when would you ever see another one mint in the box with the plastic. That is a once in a lifetime chance of ever buying anything like that. You done real good.

Not mine. I just wanted to share it with others, I figured the guys here would love to see what scout knives used to be.

Any idea of when that Remington Scout was made? I don't believe the seller was aware of what she had.

Only USA shipping eh? I would have bagged that one otherwise:D No, couldn't afford it but it's a quality looking piece of kit,the bone is so nice ,and the overall finish! Wonder how much it cost new? But, I don't suppose there was much profit in those knives, too time consuming and intricate. Very fine:thumbup:

Pretty but it can't tell a single story...that is kinda sad. Mine isn't as pretty but when I hold it I can smell campfires and wet canvas tents, I can hear the tall tales told and arguments over mumblety peg, I know mine was treasured by a Scout and it has soul to spare.

I'm with you, I want a knife to tell me the story of it's life. IMO there's nothing like a well taken care of used knife. On the other hand, Charlie Waynorth has a pretty nice collection of minty knives:D

Best regards

Robin

Nice... I inherited one made around 1937 from a great-uncle. They don't make them like than any more.
