Two hundred years ago, your khukuri would have been up against these. Come to think about it the same thing may have happened last week. Good designs are long lived.
These examples probably date to the early 19th/late 18th century, but are possibly older. The deeply double fullered yatagan knife is on top, and the sturdy khyber knife on the bottom. Note, the heavy steel reinforcement used on the sheath of the khyber knife, and the narrow (ear-less) handle on the Caucasion yatagan.
Which HI khukuri would you want in your hands if you found yourself up against one of these?
