Old Saber SFNOs vs. New Ones

It seems that the wider the flat the deeper the plungeline.
Interesting minutae, worthy of the Busse Forum
The SFNOLE is a definite winner!!!

Here's a comparison pic. Old style blank on top (with new school G-10 mags), and new style blank on bottom, with the same handles. Bottom one is taller overall, has wider flats, a more curved plunge line, and smooth-radiused talon holes (barely visible on the front talon hole in the pic, more obvious in person).

I've decided I prefer the old style grind better, although the LE is still a heck of a package. I prefer the narrower blade profile, the slimmer flats, and the straighter plunge. The older ones just have a leaner more angular look to them, while the newer ones have a fattier more curved look to them.

So did an older one overthrow the reigning champion, the LE? :)

Oh no, not yet. There's a whole official process to challenging the king. I don't see it happening because the LE is so great as an overall package. But I should give this new satin/G-10 SFNO a shot, it's certainly worthy of it.

I agree entirely. Wish I hadn't unloaded my last original. I wonder if I can trade...
