You don't see many Busses in 5160, something cool and "new"
1) Busse Apprentice Straight Handle Battle Mistress. 5160 steel, 9 13/16" long blade, 15 3/16" OAL, .2625" thick. Very cool knife, to my knowledge unused, and to my knowledge this is the only Apprentice SHBM to ever sneak out/get out of the shop; also comes with a letter from Garth stating that Jerry had confirmed the knife is a Busse apprentice made from 5160 and made aprox. 2001-2002. Black canvas micarta scales. True apprentice knife, grinds are uneven, good off grind for the plunge line, etc. Knife does come with old school style sheath and has sheath marks from it (will be shipped not inserted in the sheath, unlike how my friend who I got this from received it). If you're a Justin Gingrich fan, this knife came from the batch of blanks that he bought from Busse to make the first series of Ranger knives. It's been a couple years since I've researched that story so if I have any part wrong please let me know.

2) Apprentice Straight Handle Steel Heart, 5160, with paracord handle (set up for a right handed person). Probably made in the same time frame as the SHBM listed above. Original smooth coat has flaked off around the edge, but to my knowledge is unused. One of the previous owners took black marker and filled in the flaked areas, coating also has a little blade rub from the sheath. Edge has a patina to it in some places, or marker residue from long ago, I've never tried to remove either. Again, another cool old school Busse that really never pops up. Bottom lanyard hole does have the coating missing from it on one side, from them hanging it up when they were coating it. Comes with old school sheath. 7 1/16" long blade, 12 1/2" OAL length, .2635" thick.
