I came across an old Schrade auto....2 blades...pat dates 1909...1916 it's in great shape it still opens smoothly both blades extend all the way...small blade is tight when opened...large blade just a little play in it...the handle is dark green with cream colored swirls...it's about 3 inches long.....both blades are in good shape...not broken and it look like it has never been sharpened...some oxidation on both blades...I am not a collector and I don't know if it's worth anything....can someone help??

They came in two sizes, 3 1/8" and 3 3/8" I believe. I'd have to get mine out and measure to be sure on the dimensions. The larger ones were made with either spearpoint or clip main blades and either shadow (no bolsters) or tip bolster. They seem to be fairly rare in working condition these days. In mint condition one might fetch several hundred dollars, and I don't think I've ever seen one go for less than $50 even with a broken spring.
