Hope everyone had a good holiday weekend. Did my usual auction and flea market searches and managed to add a few old knives to the collection.

Found this Schrade bone barehead jack, pretty nice condition being pre 1946 if I'm reading the tang stamp charts correctly. Beautiful bone, great color with little wear. Blades are full but have the usual sharpening scratches from poor sharpening.

A few pics, last one with Lyle's Lick Creek Boys knife again for comparison, the Schrade is larger, of course Lyle's is better because it has the etch:D

Fine looking Schrade Cut, John. It's got the older style peachseed bone - could be 1930s!

What a wonderful knife, Augie! That thing looks like a safe queen from back in the day!

You just keep finding the vintage beauties John. Never tire looking at them:cool::thumbup:

Thank you all for the comments, much appreciated. I was really pleased at the amount of color still in the bone, must have been hiding in the dark for most of these years.
Charlie, thanks for an idea of the date, older than I thought.

That bone is awesome! Knife looks really fresh, except for those unfortunate scratches. Tang stamps are crisp.

Just beautiful!
