All the blocks from this thread are gone now
Thanks you guys, I have cut some more and will start a new thread with them a little later today.

This is some of the Ironwood I got from the Burl Guy at the coast when we went hunting for Redwood Burl. It is real old stuff that came from the estate of an old wood turner.

These photos show both sides of the blocks wiped with a damp cloth to give a better idea how they will look finished.

When you see blocks you want, just post "I'll take #s ...." and I will mark them sold for you. US shipping is $2.50 each or $10 for as many will fit in a flat rate box.

Ironwood Blocks #s 793-794

#794 - $30 SOLD to Butcher Block- 7&3/8" long x 1&7/8" wide x 7/8+" thick

Ironwood Blocks #s 795-797

Measurements are about what you would have if you trimmed away the sapwood.
The sapwood has bug holes and checks but you may be able to salvage a portion. Otherwise the measurements below give you the dimensions if you trimmed away the sapwood.

#795 - Moved to our webstore- 5" long x 1&1/2" wide x 1&1/2" thick
Removed to resaw#796 - $30 - 5" long x 1&1/2" wide x 1&1/2" thick
Removed to resaw#797 - $30 - 5" long x 1&1/2" wide x 1&1/2" thick

I will take the big slab #802, provided you can ship to Canada! I'll be in the shop tomorrow, but will check in around noon, please email me with shipping options and I will get a paypal out to you as soon as we hammer out the details.

Thank you for posting a large slab like this. I prefer to buy in large blocks as it allows me to more fully utilize the material and also choose the grain orientation for an individual knife so things aesthetically flow properly. Maybe it's just me, but I just might feel a little depressed grinding away all that goodness from an 1.5" square block.

Have a good one,

Nathan

Thanks, Dan. Ironwood is my favorite wood. I've been wanting to get some blocks as I usually just do scales. These beauties will do nicely.

Oh, Burl...would you mind shooting me a PM with the total including shipping and your paypal addy? Thanks! Looks like the Nathan's like them some ironwood. :D
