This thread has been closed because all the blocks have been paid for and shipped. Thank You.
While snooping around here at work I found one of my Boss's stashes. This is some really good, Old Growth Lace Redwood Burl. My boss said he bought this 10 or 15 years ago from someone who found it in an old fallen down barn. I think you will agree it is really nice burl.
This burl is harder than normal redwood, but not as hard as the really hard stuff I listed a short while back. These blocks are cut so they should yield at least 2 handles each. I did not trim these up so the edges are rough cut. There are a few very shallow edge checks and a couple scattered bug holes in the sapwood on some of the pieces.
Quite a few makers have asked for burl with contrasting sapwood. Some of these pieces have a natural end so you can utilize the area with the sapwood. Measurements on the pieces with a natural end are taken from the cut end to about where the other end starts to go at an angle. Photos of one side will show a pencil line where the measurement was taken.
Photos show the wood lightly misted with water to give a better idea what the colors and figure will be like. Photos show both faces of each piece.
When you see ones you want, just post "I'll take #s ...." and I will mark them sold for you.
US shipping is $5 for up to 2 blocks or $10 for up to 8 blocks. ........or, if you agree to post photos of your finished knives using this wood, I will pay US shipping.
