This thread has been closed due to selling policy changes. Sorry.
Some of you guys are probably thinking the wood I list is too expensive. Compared to many of the wood suppliers, it probably is. I am one of the main sources for a lot of the wood re-sellers. Typically they will buy big slabs and cut them up to get as many handle blocks and scales as possible. Nothing wrong with that as a lot of those pieces will go on knives that will only sell for $100 or so.
The blocks in this listing are intended to go on really high end knives. I cut these blocks with my sole intent being to get the best looking blocks possible. Over 1/2 of the wood went into my scrap pile, but I think you will agree that these "keepers" are awesome.
If you don't mind spending a few bucks extra to get some of the best quality Madrone Burl, I promise you won't be disappointed with these blocks. The ones priced at $25 are nicer than what most wood sellers are calling exhibition grade. I just call them some of the really good stuff.
These were cut from an old tabletop. The table was made back in the 70's and had a thick coat of resin. I cut out the best parts and sanded them a little so you could see how nice this wood really is. The wood was dampened for the photos. I am so sure you will love these blocks that they come with a no questions asked, money back guarantee.
Shipping 1st class in the US is $2.50 each. Free US shipping if you get 3 or more.
These blocks are Pacific Madrone Burl from Southern Oregon. Madrone is a good hard wood that polishes up beautifully with a unique red/orange color. These are natural blocks that are hard enough to use without stabilizing.
Just post a reply of which ones you want and I'll mark it sold. That way nobody can buy it out from under you.
