Agree completely.Old style box 1,000,000%. The new one takes up too much space, lots of wasted space and not needed. The old box thinner style was perfect. Sebenza wrapped in the blue cloth. Was as perfect as the blades themselves. Just like the new Mnandi nail nick, it simply isn't needed.
only problem I have with the new box is that, having cleaned my knife multiple times, every time I put the pieces back in the box and close it, I feel like I'm one step closer to ripping the cardboard folding tabs because they crease a little more every time. I wonder why the big change in the first place? It can't be cheaper having to put cutout styrofoam in the box. It seems to me they were trying to step the quality UP and in turn got disapproval from the masses.
I say CRK should go back to the old boxes but have the styrofoam cut and inserted so that when you open the box, the knife is displayed, with all the paperwork , wrench etc UNDER the styrofoam...similar to how some watches come packaged.

I agree with this. I've wondered if they went to the new style with the foam because maybe in the old boxes, the knives would escape the cloth somehow and get scratched by the taped Allen wrenchI say CRK should go back to the old boxes but have the styrofoam cut and inserted so that when you open the box, the knife is displayed, with all the paperwork , wrench etc UNDER the styrofoam...similar to how some watches come packaged.
The new box is easy to repack, presents better, and offers far better protection than the old. I can't believe how many people would rather have a $500 pocket knife rolled up in a towel and tossed loose in a cardboard box with a hex wrench scotch taped to the inside of the lid.
