Old style box vs new

The old box is a simple box. It delivered the cutting tool.
A sticker or 2 made it a CRK box.
Wraped in paper later in a cloth it is robust and keeps the knife secure.
Of course the Sebenza evolved, so did the box. It sure deserved it's own box.

PS: A dented box is already a trade mark of another knife company. ;)

Brilliant thread guys....
Knives are perfect, impossible to complain about them.......
So lets complain about their package[emoji39][emoji4]
The boxes of my CR's are safely tucked away in a cupboard, no need for them, since l carry my knives

There's a 21 for sale on the exchange, dated December 2015, with an old style box. So looks like a return to those. A minor thing to most perhaps, but an improvement nonetheless?

The new box is easy to repack, presents better, and offers far better protection than the old. I can't believe how many people would rather have a $500 pocket knife rolled up in a towel and tossed loose in a cardboard box with a hex wrench scotch taped to the inside of the lid.

The whole karma (if knives have karma) of a Sebenza is simple, practical utility. I don't need blue microfiber towels with a CRK monogram or fancy boxes with foam inserts. Keep it simple...

As a dealer we would madly prefer the old box just for ease of presentation in the shop! Plus the fear of ripping a box!

I say CRK should go back to the old boxes but have the styrofoam cut and inserted so that when you open the box, the knife is displayed, with all the paperwork , wrench etc UNDER the styrofoam...similar to how some watches come packaged.

That's a million dollar idea...the old boxes FTW! Styrofoam insert would just put the icing on the cake.

I've got two new style boxes and both are ripped...

I have a 25 from last year also in an old style box. It was born March 17, 2015.

Lol! I just think it would be cool as hell...prob see everyone in the forums taking pics with their knives all displayed IN their boxes(since we all LOVE the boxes anyway)

Hey CRK, if you use my idea, i just want one of my knives signed INSIDE the scales by Mr. Chris! PM me! (Just kidding)

New style. They are just boxes thou. I really do not care about the shipping box because I use my knives as tools.

The old box was more heavy duty than the new boxes. The old boxes offered BETTER protection. Yes, I do prefer the old box.

Have you noticed that the new style allen wrench don't fit as snug as the old wrench?

Truthfully, I hadn't even checked. I never carry the 25's I have, and have never taken either down. I wonder what caused the variance.

Having just received a new large 21 with a spirograph blade, the huge disappointment was the "new" box style. They are just that terrible.

Thanks for letting me vent...

About the new box, I like that the birth card fits in, and everything else paperwork wise fits in without bending. One of my old boxes pinched and damaged the birth card when it was closed which is more than annoying. Because it never fit flat.

I guess I will send it in one day when the knife goes in for a Spa day and have it replaced.

But in every other way I like the old box.

You've absolutely right about the card fit in the new boxes.

It is just frustrating to have to be so careful and fight (be very careful) with the new boxes to ensure they don't tear and still fit everything back into them.
