This is my version of one of Walt Knuebuhler's knives; the Hugh Glass. Hugh was a mountain man who was left to die after being mauled by a bear. He didn't. Lived 10 more years until he was killed and scalped by the Apaches.
Walt made this one in stainless with either Micarta or wood scales and a couple of bolts. I've sort of Indianed it up a bit...I'm sure he wouldn't mind;).
Specs are:
Flat ground from 1/8 inch D-2. Distal taper/satin finish/convex edge. Cryo by D-Holder. Blade is 4 1/4 inches x 1 1/4 inches(at the hump). OAL is 8 1/2 inches and the weight is 6.2 ounces. Copper bolster and copper trim. The scales are stabilized curly claro walnut. They're stabilized without the usual "plastic feel/look, and are natural looking. The sheath is from 8/10 oz veggie tanned bridle leather; Basket weave stamping and waterproofed with sno-seal.
Price: $180.00USD. That includes shipping as far as the UK and there are no Paypal fees. My E-mail/paypal address is casmircb@windstream.net. Check/MO Accepted. Thanks for looking.SOLD

Thanks. I like using copper, has a warmer look/colour to it. Beside's, I'm retired Navy and had all the brass I could stand. In more ways than one:).

That is a great looking knife, I generally don't like copper but you really pulled it off well on this knife. awesome job

WOW! This is a stunning piece! I really like your work and your use of copper! Your blades look very functional but by no means ordinary. This blade has a slight nessmuk feel to it but with a more pronounced point. Good work here!

Yeah, I noticed the refined Nessmuk thing in the design also. Walt also produced(produces) a full tang Nessmuk; the original of which was made by a friend of the real Nessmuk who produced the stick tang version ol' GWS made famous. It'll, the Hugh Glass, do anything the skinner type blade of the Nessmuk will do, but with that more centered point it can handle woodcraft/bushcraft duties the Nessie just isn't cut out to do. Excuse the pun:D

If this Knife is still around i will take it.

I don't know why I never seem to get my BF threads even though I suscribe. Good thing I checked today.

Yep it's still available. You're best off contacting at my e-mail/paypal which is casmircb@windstream.net, unless you don't want anyone to know your e-mail, in which case I'll be sure to check back here periodically. It's a nice little knife.
Thanks,
Joel

Received, thank you very much. I'll try and post it in the morning(our post office is only open in the morning on Saturday); if not then Monday for sure. I don't suppose the Canadien mail has speeded up any;).

I dunno Ben, it's got plenty of belly to it. I haven't used a pure skinner in years even though I made myself a Nessmuk. Usually I just get by with a droppoint. I'm planning on building more of these, but they'll be a lot simpler; kinda the way that Walt built them. I just had to get this one out of my system:D

I like the wood and multiple pins. Maybe copper maybe without.
I'm with you on the drop point. The PH I hunted with in Africa this year carried a Buck Vanguard. Their knives have to be relatively inexpensive to take the daily skinning and resharpening. He said a knife lasts him 2 years at most until it gets lost, stolen, broken or used up.
