Old Timer 7-OT

I have a newer 7-OT 3pin and it is Stamped w/o the plus. In fact I don't recall ever seeing a stainless OT. Were they made or is this old timer tradition to have just carbon steel?
 
Those more knowledgable than I will give you better information soon, but, as I understand it, the earlier decades of OT steel all were of 1095 high carbon composition. In the very last years, the plus sign always indicated stainless, but the lack of it did not necessarily mean that the steel was NOT stainless. If you subject it to some acidic abuse you should know soon enough.:(
