I purchased a combo package at WalMart that included a 108OT (Junior, I believe), and a 6OT (Golden Bear?). The packaging clearly says...
2 Piece Value Pack, 5"lockback and 2 3/4" pocketknife, Item#6108OTCP.

But when I look anywhere online, including the Schrade site, it says the 6OT is 6" closed. My knife is 5" closed, but is clearly marked as a 6OT. No rear bolster, but a lanyard hole and included "Nylon" sheath.
Any information or comments would be appreciated.
Thanks,
El Lobo:confused:

Hey El Lobo,
I've had my 60T for a coupla years now. As far as I know it's always been 5 inches. :)
Probably a misprint.

Hey Alex,
Glad to hear someone else with experience has the same knife. Just seems kind of unusual, maybe it should be a 5OT.....nah, too much history. Nice knife for the money, I was just confused, but my ignorance is somewhat blissfull. :p

Thanks,
Bill

P.S.
Would still like to hear an answer from someone at Schrade, wouldn't you?

I just looked on the Schrade site and you certainly are correct it does say 6" closed. You are also correct in that the knife is really 5" closed. The fact that the model is 6-OT does not mean it is 6 inchs long any more than an 7-OT ( cave bear) or LB-7 would be 7" closed. Although I liked the logic of your comment it made me chuckle. The truth is they are all the same pattern and size ( Large single blade lockback ). The various differences are handle and bolster and various parts ( types of various materials used differences.) In fact you would be hard pressed to find ( aside from the folding fruit knife style that Schrade used to make (#105) to find any folding knife Schrade ever made ( aside from display knives ) that were 5,1/4" or longer closed. These were the large folding hunters 5,1/4" ( 125OT, 227UH ect style ) the other style was large clasp style used in special sets like the Trail of tears issue made for parker frost which I believe is around 5,1/2". In fact in 3 blade or stockman styles I can only remember one knife made by Schrade that was even 5" closed and that was made by by Schrade when they owned the IXL Wolstenholm brand ( made under the IXL marking) otherwise I believe the largest stockman was an 858OT (it was also made for the UH line) which was 4,5/8" closed. What all this means is that if it is a folder made by schrade and it is 6" closed the chances are it is either a mistake or something new. I guess in this case Schrade has made a mistake that has often been made throughout history overstating the size of their tool. LT

Thanks for the interesting reply LT.
Your last comment has given me some real food for thought for this evening, since it is Valentine's Day and all that.
:D

P.S.
To keep it knife related, I wonder how long this 6" is really 5" anomoly has been on the Schrade, and many other websites?

Sorry for any confusion this may of caused, however the 6OT is 5". Our Schrade site had a miss print and that is being corrected at this time. Thank you for your interest in our Schrade products.
