Just to clarify your model numbers, it's 7OT, as in 7-Old Timer.
I can't answer your production year question off-hand, but the information might be here in the forum already.

The 7OT is not rare; it was mass-produced for many years.
The 89OT I would classify as "less common." It's hard to call almost any Old Timer "rare" since every standard model was produced by the thousands, or tens-of-thousands, or hundreds-of-thousands.

The 89OT was produced from 1989-1999. The 7OT first came out in 1978, and the first ones were 4 pin carbon steel, and those are hard to find.
